Yes, even baby teeth need treatment!

The first baby teeth start to come in at around 6 months, and all 20 of them should appear by the age of 3. Healthy, functional teeth capable of chewing and biting off food are the underpinning of a normal diet, and therefore children's growth and development.

If not treated on time, tooth decay in baby teeth leads to a periapical abscess – a pocket of infection around the tooth root. In addition to pain, these infections can cause damage to permanent successors, so removing the affected teeth is often necessary.

This is one of the most common causes of premature loss of baby teeth. Losing one or more front baby teeth leads to speech impairment.

Maintaining good oral hygiene and regular visits to the dentist are the best prevention care!
