Veneers are thin, custom-made shells that cover the front of the teeth to cover up imperfections in your smile.
They are made entirely of ceramic, ensuring a completely natural appearance. Only 0.5 mm of tooth enamel needs to be removed to fit a veneer. The latest materials provide enough strength and durability to support veneer placement even on back teeth without worrying about potential fractures and loss of functionality.
Veneers are primarily used for aesthetic purposes, restoring damage caused by caries, trauma or abrasion, and treating dental pigmentation that cannot be whitened. They are also a popular option among patients who want to close unwanted gaps between their teeth. They are made in our laboratory, and gently placed over the front of the tooth, shaving down only a thin layer.
Non-prep composite veneers
Although veneers are most commonly made of ceramic, it should be noted that they are not always the most economical option, especially for patients dealing with problems such as misalignment, inadequate colour, or size of the tooth.
As an alternative, the non-prep injection method with composite veneers enables teeth shaping without the need for filing down the original tooth. This procedure involves taking an impression to create a silicone index, leaving the natural tooth intact, and transforming the patient’s smile in less than 3 hours.
Over the last decades, the quality of the materials used has improved to the point where composite materials are catching up with ceramic veneers, offering an innovative and economical solution without compromising on quality.
Composite veneers are an ideal option for diastema (gap between the teeth) closure or for teeth that don’t match the surrounding teeth in size. After taking an impression, the silicone index is made, helping the patient achieve their new smile. If the patient has a change of heart in the future, this process is completely reversible, allowing us to return the teeth back to their original condition.
